Baycan Elektrik transformed its commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment into a global pledge by becoming an official signatory to the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs).
The signing ceremony was attended by Özgür Alp, Vice President of the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce, Elif Gürkaynak, the Eskişehir Provincial Representative of the TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Board, and members of the executive board. During the ceremony, the shared will of the regional business community to support women’s entrepreneurship and gender equality was emphasized once again.
Speaking at the ceremony, Elif Gürkaynak, Chair of the TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Board, stated that as a board, they work towards expanding women’s employment and increasing women’s presence in business life. Within this scope, she expressed her satisfaction that Baycan Elektrik has joined the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles initiative that they launched in Eskişehir.
Established through a joint initiative of UN Women and the UN Global Compact, WEPs offers an international framework shaped around seven core principles to advance gender equality in the private sector.
As an institution that has already placed the implementation of WEPs principles at the very center of its operations through its long-standing female employment rate of over 70%, its safe working environment, policies supporting professional development, and social responsibility, Baycan Elektrik elevates its commitment to the next level with this signature.
